For someone just beginning their genealogy research, the local library is a great place to start. Most libraries have a genealogy section or allow public access to materials that will help get you started. Also, many libraries can connect you with local historians and volunteers that can assist your research immensely.

For Russell County, there are two libraries available. The main branch is located in Jamestown and another branch can be found in Russell Springs.
Hours: M W F 8-4:30, T 11:00-7:00, Th 8:00-1:00, Closed Saturday
